As part of the expansion of Smartply’s OSB plant in Waterford, Ireland, our long-standing customer Siempelkamp commissioned us to install a new OSB production line based on the ContiRoll® system. The aim of the project was to seamlessly integrate the new production line whilst causing as little disruption as possible to ongoing operations.

Our range of services
Our scope of work included the supply and installation of approximately 800 tonnes of steel structures, the installation of 400 metres of mechanical conveyor systems, and the installation of mechanical and electrical components for the moulding and pressing line, the cooling and de-stacking system, and the raw sheet cutting system. The switchover of the material supply from the existing line to the new one took place during a precisely planned plant shutdown. This enabled production downtime to be reduced to a minimum. The project was completed on schedule and the first slab was produced within the planned timeframe.
